Natural Habitat Decrease - Over used Highways

Since the opening of the (3) Three major highways, with Merritt being in the middle.

The amount of wildlife such as deer, moose, bears, and elk; has decrease in numbers. Many wildlife were unsure of new highway has disturbed their natural valley crossings and the wildlife would have to cross the highway to continue their journey. Many deer and moose have been killed along these highways.

Also these highways have given more access to other out of town hunters to use our territory to hunt our game. Their is hardly anymore deer or moose to hunt in our valley's. Too many people with big trucks use our back roads for camping, fishing, hunting, and recreational use. They travel with their families, friends and recreational groups. They take with them motorcross bikes, all terrain vehicles, quads, or ski-doo's. These people are here all year round. The weather is getting warmer and winters are shorter. They disturb the natural surroundings!

Its 2010, now I am seeing the moose come back to the swamp thats located along the highway after the Logan Lake turnoff. Since last year, forestry had the mountain pine beetle trees cut down and burned; wildlife are slowly coming back. Its taken time..
